How the
Beyond Boundaries Program Works

A 8-week global collaboration where students create impactful content, build leadership skills, and make a real difference.

Program Flow

Each student in Beyond Boundaries is assigned a focused topic or workstream connected to the NGO project. Throughout the cohort, students work both independently and collaboratively while receiving guidance from project coordinators and peer feedback from the group.

Start Week: June 13th 

Week 1

Orientation + Project Setup

  • Meet the project coordinators and fellow students during the kickoff Zoom session
     

  • Receive your topic/workstream assignment
     

  • Join the Discord communication channel
     

  • Attend a short 1:1 onboarding conversation with a project coordinator
     

  • Review existing CSA material related to your topic

Week 2

Research + Planning

  • Begin brainstorming how to improve or reimagine the material in a more engaging and child-friendly format
     

  • Begin researching AI tools and approaches that may support your work
     

  • Collaboratively shortlist tools and approaches

Weeks 3–5

Creation + Feedback

  • Begin building project materials such as stories, visuals, videos, or awareness content
     

  • Present concepts and receive peer + coordinator feedback
     

  • Continue refining work with guidance from project coordinators and social worker input where applicable

Weeks 6–8

Refinement + Final Delivery

  • Finalize project materials
     

  • Incorporate coordinator and social worker feedback
     

  • Help review and support other student projects
     

  • Complete final submissions and impact showcase activities

Throughout the program, students will:

Track volunteer hours

Collaborate with peers across the US and India

Receive mentorship and feedback

Build real-world project experience and portfolio material

Features of the Program

1. A Real-World Impact Project

Students work on real social impact projects in partnership with organizations working directly with communities.

For the June cohort, students will help create educational and awareness content that social workers can use with children and youth across 165+ villages in India.

5. Personalized Growth + Feedback

At the start of the program, students select 3 areas they would like to grow in, such as:

Creativity
Leadership
Research Ability
Communication
And more

Throughout the cohort, students receive feedback from peers, project coordinators, and mentors based on the areas they selected.

2. Individual Ownership + Team Collaboration

Each student is assigned a focused topic or workstream to own.

✔ Project continuity

You own your work while still collaborating and supporting one another.

6. Gamified Community Experience

Every week, students vote and  are recognized for contributions such as:

✔ Collaboration

✔ Problem Solving
✔ Leadership

Student achievements may also be reflected on certificates and future impact profiles.

3. Flexible, Impact-Based Structure

The program runs for approximately 8 weeks with weekly checkpoints and support sessions.

Beyond Boundaries is designed to be:

4. AI + Creativity + Leadership

Students are encouraged to explore affordable and impactful AI tools to support their work.

You may work on:

💡 Creative Problem Solving

The goal is not just to “learn AI,” but to learn how to use technology thoughtfully for social impact.

Students who demonstrate initiative may also have opportunities to help shape or co-lead future Beyond Boundaries projects and initiatives.
